PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) –Steelers announced their themes for this season's home schedule on Wednesday, the Hall of Honor Class will be celebrated on Sunday, October 29 vs Jacksonville.
The class is expected to be announced during training camp in Latrobe, which starts for the public during the first practice on July 27. Another popular game is the Alumni Weekend where former players, coaches and staffers are on hand and honored at halftime, that game will be Sunday, November 12 against Green Bay.
There are a couple of games bringing awareness to charities. The 'Crucial Catch:Intercept Cancer' game is Sunday, October 8 against the Ravens. On Sunday, December 3 against Arizona the 'My Cause, My Cleats' where players where decorated cleats to support charities of their choice. Former Steelers safety Ryan Clark was one of the initiators of this event. The 'Salute to Service' game is Thursday, November 2 against Tennessee honoring service members, veterans and their families.
Kickoff weekend is Sunday, September 10 against the 49ers and it ends with the 'Thank You Fans' finale against Cincinnati on Saturday, December 23.
