PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Steelers have used the first pick of the second day of the draft to pick a legacy, corner Joey Porter, Junior from Penn State.
The son of one of the greatest pass rushers in team history is the 32nd overall selection and first of the second round. Joey’s son has his own credentials building off a first-team all-state career at North Allegheny High School. Porter became an All-Big 10 cornerback at Penn State, his final season won the team Most Valuable Defensive Player Award. Porter finished with 27 tackles, 11 pass breakups in 2022. He was also named second-team AP All-American despite missing two games with appendicitis.
Porter will have the opportunity to start at corner either next to Patrick Peterson or Levi Wallace.
