Rooney: Steelers signing Aaron Rodgers 'pointing in that direction'

Steelers owner Art Rooney II believes that four-time NFL MVP will be the team’s quarterback in 2025.

LISTEN: Reacting to Rooney saying Steelers have good feeling about signing Rodgers

Speaking with reporters at the NFL Meetings in Florida Rooney said that the signs are Rodgers signing with Pittsburgh is “pointing in that direction.”

Asked if the Steelers are okay waiting for Rodgers to decide on whether to sign or not, Rooney said, through ESPN’s Brooke Pryor, “not forever, but a little while longer.”

93.7 The Fan Steelers insider Mark Kaboly said it was Rooney who “put a soft deadline on the Aaron Rodgers saga.”

Kaboly adds he thinks that a “decision has already been made” or is close.

At this point, the only other realistic option for Rodgers is retirement, and an outside chance he signs with the Minnesota Vikings.

That’s something that former NFL safety Darius Butler doesn’t see happening.

“There’s no way he’s gonna retire,” said Butler on The Pat McAfee Show.

Joe Starkey says that five years ago, if this news came out, people would be saying the Steelers are going to win the Super Bowl.

But now in his early 40s, does Steelers Nation have any faith in Rodgers bringing success to Pittsburgh?
