Steelers signing former All-Pro returner Jamal Agnew

According to report, the Steelers are signing a former All-Pro returner to their practice squad.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport says wide receiver Jamal Agnew will be signing with Pittsburgh.

The 29-year-old was taken in the 5th round of the 2017 draft by the Detroit Lions.

Agnew has appeared in 82 games (five starts) with both the Lions and Jacksonville Jaguars. He has 77 catches for 746 yards and five touchdowns.

As a returner, Agnew has four career punt returns for touchdowns and two kick returns for a TD.

He was a First-Team All Pro in 2017 and a Pro Bowler in 2022.

Agnew gives the Steelers some insurance at wide out with Calvin Austin III leaving Sunday’s game with a head injury.

After Austin left the game, new WR Mike Williams came in and scored the game-winning touchdown.

Agnew broke his leg late last season, became a free agent in the offseason and now is on the Steelers practice squad.
