It came down to a missed field goal, but the Steelers outlasted the previously undefeated Tennessee Titans to improve to 6-0 for the first time since 1978.
A stellar first half was slightly ruined by Ben Roethlisberger interception. Instead of getting some more yards for a field goal attempt, Ben made a hail Mary pass that was picked off in the end zone.
That decision would have been debated extensively had Stephen Gostkowski made the 45-yard attempt with 19 seconds left.
A 20-point lead evaporated in the second half thanks, in part, to two more Roethlisberger interceptions. One was tipped and the other was on the Steelers final drive of the game, a move Coach Mike Tomlin said after the game he didn't regret.
Roethlisberger agreed. "I'll take JuJu down the middle on a linebacker. I've got to get it about six inches higher."
"It wasn't always pretty, at times it was," said Roethlisberger adding his three interceptions are "unacceptable."
Even though the Titans scored 17 points in the second half, compared to the Steelers 3, the defense was able to hold Derek Henry to 75 yards on 20 carries. James Conner had 82 yards on 20 carries.
The Steelers won't be able to celebrate for too long though, as they head to Baltimore next Sunday to take on the division rival Ravens.
