PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - Jordan Berry is out after five seasons as the Steelers punter, and Dustin Colquitt is in after spending 15 seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Steelers announced the signing of Colquitt on Monday, one week before their regular season opener. He was brought in for a tryout over the weekend and passed a physical.
Colquitt, who turned 38 in May, was released by Kansas City on April 28. He averaged 44.3 yards per punt last season and has a career average of 44.8. Berry averaged 45.5 last season and 44.2 career-wise.
Colquitt's father, Craig, punted for the Steelers from 1978-1984.
Colquitt is also the second member of the Chiefs Super Bowl team to sign with the Steelers, joining offensive lineman Stefen Wisniewski, who joined the team as a free agent in March.
