Tomlin not saying if Pickens is being disciplined

You might want to see Steelers Head Coach Mike Tomlin discipline wide receiver George Pickens for his recent behavior issues on the field, but it's not going to happen.

Asked during his weekly news conference, Tomlin was asked to expound on his comments that Pickens needed to "grow up" on relation to the unsportsmanlike penalties he's gotten in recent weeks.

"I'm not going to give you any detail about what goes on behind the scenes in terms of his growth and development, you know that's my style," said Tomlin. "Being transparent with you guys doesn't necessarily help or accelerate the growth process, and that's my agenda not necessarily feeding the beast.

ESPN's Brooke Pryor followed up her first question with another, asking if Pickens' behavior concerns Tomlin.

"If it is or isn't, I wouldn't necessarily tell you to be quite honest with you," said Tomlin.

Pickens was hit for a taunting penalty and for what officials believed was mimicking a gun after making a first down against Cincinnati on Sunday.

He also got into a scuffle at the end of the loss to the Browns in Cleveland the week before when he seemed to be more interested in fighting than trying to catch a Hail Mary pass.

Coach Tomlin likes to keep a lot of what he does with his players, discipline wise, behind closed doors and has even admitted to telling the media one thing and doing the other with his coaches.

But now in his third year, George Pickens doesn't seem to be getting the message with these unsportsmanlike continuing.

If there is behind-the-scenes discipline being handed out, it doesn't seem to be working.
