The summer of 2022 might feel like the most "normal" summer we've had since 2019, at least when it comes to outdoor concerts.

The newest addition to the summer concert calendar is the schedule for ZooTunes, the iconic family-friendly summer series on the meadow at Seattle's Woodland Park Zoo.

The first concerts revealed by the zoo include:

Indigo Girls, Wednesday July 15
Neko Case, Thursday June 16
Andrew Bird with Iron & Wine with Allison Russell, Sunday June 19
Old Crow Medicine Show, Monday July 18
The Roots, Sunday July 31
Mt. Joy, Thursday August 11
Cake, Sunday August 21
Shakey Graves, Sunday August 28

Tickets will go on sale on Friday February 25 at 10:00am and they're only selling them online, in advance -- no sales at the gate. Everything you need to know is on the ZooTunes website,

If you've never been to ZooTunes before, it's really a gem of a series because kids are welcome -- I'm pretty sure for many families, the kid's first concert is a ZooTunes concert.

And your ticket supports Woodland Park Zoo programs. As the website says, "ZooTunes is a key fundraising event for Woodland Park Zoo with proceeds going to support the zoo’s exemplary animal care, both local and global conservation programs and critically important education programs."

Best of all, this announcement is a great sign that summer's coming, eventually!
