It's an annual event for Seattle area diners, and it's back in full swing this year: Seattle Restaurant Week. Oh yeah, and it's not really a "week;" it's for the entire month of April. And it's not just happening in Seattle; it includes restaurants from Bellevue to Bothell to Renton to Edmonds to Tukwila.
As they say on the Seattle Restaurant Week website, this is "a bi-annual celebration of the Seattle area's culinary community. Participating eating establishments will offer special prix fixe menus all month long, with $20 lunch and $35 and $50 dinner options. Venues will offer takeout, ready-to-heat, delivery, meal boxes, and indoor and outdoor dining as permissible by public health guidelines."
And because the last year has been tough on a lot of folks around the Sound, there's a "buy one, give one" option which lets you add $10 to your tab to donate a meal to someone in need in the community.
You know restaurants have taken a big hit during the last year, and I'm betting you've missed going to restaurants during the last year. I sure have, although I've done my share of outdoor dining, even in winter when I've been seated in something that resembles an igloo in a parking lot.
Anyway, this is your chance to show some love to your favorite spot, or maybe even try a new restaurant that might normally be beyond your budget.
Bon appetit!
