Ally Johnson from Audacy's KROQ in Los Angeles sat with the cast before the premiere for a look at season 2. Watch below for a look inside the show, and catch Nobody Wants This, now streaming on Netflix.
Kristen Bell and Adam Brody
After some talk about the best sandwiches in Los Angeles, Kristen Bell and Adam Brody shared their thoughts on dating red flags, and what it's like to be with someone who shares your life on a podcast. "That is my real life. My husband has a podcast and we are very open," explains Bell. "I get this question a lot, 'is there a strategy to certain things that you keep hidden?' I don't know that there's anything all too thought out other than gut instincts. You sort of go through a protocol, when I'm gonna talk about him publicly or he's gonna talk about me publicly, you go through a little checklist in your mind like, 'is this my story to tell? Would this hurt anyone's feelings and how would she feel with the way that I phrase it?' I think if you hit those things and you're doing it respectfully, for everyone, it's different, but for me it's fine."
Justine Lupe
Justine Lupe's character Morgan has her own relationship to navigate in season 2, and the actress gushed about the writing that the show is built on. "The writing is so strong. It's really, really fun and good," she says. "I'm someone who's very comfortable just sticking with the words and I believe in writing, and I believe in writers, and care very much about honoring what they wrote, but this is like, it gives room for a lot of play and yeah, we're given free license to kind of add things in and play around with it, and naturally things do kind of just come out as we're going. So it's a hybrid you would say, but it definitely starts with the the words."
Timothy Simons and Jackie Tohn
Navigating DMs and dance moves, Timothy Simons and Jackie Tohn were ready to level up their characters for season 2, with the actors noting that they were lucky to already be close with each other before filming. "I think we're pretty lucky in that it was kind of tight knit from the beginning," shares Simons. "It was kind of already there in a great way, and so season 2 just kind of felt like picking it up rather than trying to find it just because we've all known each other for a long time."
"KB the other day called us America's quintuplets," adds Jackie. "Just so disturbing, but also like it's for our family, but calling us America's quintuplets is unhinged."
