Ex-boyfriend arrested following fatal stabbing of woman in East L.A.

LOS ANGELES (KNX) — The ex-boyfriend of a woman found stabbed to death Saturday in the 4100 block of Whittier Boulevard has been arrested on murder charges, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

The woman in her 20's, who deputies have not identified, was found just after 6:16 p.m. Saturday. The next day LASD arrested her ex-boyfriend, Joseph Huertas, on murder charges.

The 29-year-old is expected to appear in the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center on Tuesday. He is being held on $2,000,000 bail.

Deputies have not shared any information about what led them to consider Huertas as a suspect in the death investigation.
