A community march is planned for Saturday in Lancaster to honor a 33-year-old woman allegedly killed by her husband, who is suspected of fleeing to Peru after the homicide.

The suspect -- identified by the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office as 36-year-old Jossimar Cabrera Cornejo -- has been charged with murder in connection with the death of Sheylla Cabrera. Her family prefers she be identified by her maiden name, Sheylla Lisbet Gutierrez Rosillo.

Agents of Change Inc., an advocacy group supporting domestic violence survivors, organized the march, which will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at 44811 Sierra Highway and end at Lancaster City Hall at 44933 Fern Avenue.

"Our community will march side by side to keep Sheylla's memory alive and raise our voices for change," the group said in a statement.

Gutierrez Rosillo was reported missing Aug. 12 to the sheriff's Lancaster Station.

The husband, who reportedly gave conflicting statements about her whereabouts, surrendered to authorities in Peru and was awaiting extradition to the U.S., according to the Los Angles County Sheriff's Department. The couple's two children were also found safe in Peru.

It was not immediately clear when he will be extradited to Los Angeles.

Deputies investigating the woman's disappearance "discovered additional video surveillance of the missing person's husband dragging a large object in a large piece of material from the apartment complex in the 500 block of Lancaster Boulevard, where the missing person, her husband and three young sons lived," according to an earlier statement released by sheriff's officials.

Deputies determined there were signs of foul play in the woman's disappearance and notified the Sheriff's Homicide Bureau, which launched an investigation, sheriff's officials said.

"On the same day, investigators were contacted shortly after 10 a.m. by the Montrose Mountain Search and Rescue Team, who reported they had spotted an object similar to the material that was seen being taken away by the person of interest over the side of an embankment in the Angeles National Forest," according to the sheriff's department.

Investigators discovered Gutierrez Rosillo's body inside the material, and she was pronounced dead at the scene.

The county Medical Examiner's office determined her death was a homicide caused by multiple stab wounds.
