
A motorcycle crash shut down several lanes of the southbound Golden State (5) Freeway in Pacoima early Tuesday, backing up traffic for hours during the morning rush.

The crash was reported about 4:50 a.m. Tuesday near Osborne Street, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The rider was taken to a hospital, though the person's condition was not immediately known.
A car fire also broke out slightly north of the crash, adding to the traffic congestion.
At one point, the connector to the southbound Hollywood (170) was also down from three lanes to one.
A SigAlert was issued at 5:45 a.m. and all lanes were reopened around 10:10 a.m., according to the CHP.
