Some of Angelo Cataldi's biggest on-air enemies

In honor of today's 94WIP Morning Show argument between Angelo Cataldi and Lenny Dykstra, it got us thinking about some of the all-time great on-air Cataldi fights.

Here's what we came up with.

Gabe Kapler Part 1

Kapler did not like Angelo's article that called Phillies GM Matt Klentak "incompetent."

"I guess I want to start with, the reason I come on your show every week is to answer your questions," Kapler said.

"When I write what I write Gabe, it's represented by hundreds of people that are thinking the way I am," Cataldi said.

In this debate, the two went at it over Scott Kingery being sent down to the minors.

And one more time, over Jean Segura not hustling.

Howard Eskin

Eskin ripped Cataldi during his Saturday morning show for Cataldi's interview with Kapler. Eskin did not appreciate Cataldi saying he is the voice of the fans.

Charlie Manuel
This dates back years ago. Angelo was never a big Charlie fan. He's an excerpt from an article he wrote in 2013,

“The bottom line is, he underachieved,” Cataldi wrote. "The division was weak, the stands were full and Manuel just kept finding ways to lose the games that mattered most. He had the best team in baseball in 2009, and he blew the World Series to the inferior Yankees. He had a 102-win team in 2011 — arguably the best club of the era — and couldn’t get past the far weaker Cardinals in the first round of the playoffs.”

Chip Kelly
For the most part, Angelo and Chip had a good relationship and actually bonded over their pie delivery situation. But, during Kelly's low point, him and Cataldi got into one heated exchange where Cataldi had a nice little zinger.
“If people want a screamer and yeller then let's hire you. You're pretty good at that,” Kelly said.
“I’ll tell you, I don’t think I’d be worse than 4-6,” Cataldi responded.
