Howard Eskin: Iverson should not be the G.O.A.T.

Howard Eskin isn't happy with 94WIP's G.O.A.T. of Broad Street list.

The people have spoken and fans have voted Allen Iverson as the greatest Philadelphia athlete of the last 50 years.

Eskin, however, called the list a "farce."

"Well this goat list has become a complete farce," Eskin said on Thursday 94WIP Midday Show. "It is a farce. It's millenals overrunning just like little ants, over running this list."

"I heard a caller earlier while I was walking getting my 12 miles in. A guy said that, 'Iverson was a lunch pail guy.' Well let me remind you of this quote, 'How am I gonna make my teammates better by practicing?'

"So he wasn't a lunch pail guy everyday," Eskin said. "He didn’t come to work everyday, he didn't work hard everyday. He played hard in the games and he was terrific. But to have him number one is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. I have him like right on the edge of the top five. If you can't tell me that Mike Schmidt is number one.

"When you separate yourself and you allow time in between when they play, you realize how -- not good -- but how great some players were. And if Mike Schmidt is not number one, take this list and shove it up somebody's you know what."
