If the Eagles were trying to end 2023 on the lowest note possible, mission accomplished.
A year that started with a run to the Super Bowl and a 10-1 start has come crashing down in the last month as the Eagles have fell from the top of the NFC to second place in their own division.
There will be a lot of interesting discussion WIP this week heading into the final game of the season, but for now here are the instant takeaways following the Eagles loss to the Cardinals:
1. "They’ve completely collapsed. The head coach should be coaching for his job the rest of the season," Jack Fritz.
2. "This game was a complete and total embarrassment for the Eagles. A joke. This season is over," James Seltzer.
3. "Absolutely pathetic. Many places to put the blame but ultimately it comes back to the Nick Sirianni. The Eagles have had the same problems all year on both sides of the ball and none of them have gotten fixed. If anything they've gotten worse," Tom Kelly.
4. "One of the worst defensive performances ever by the Eagles.
But it’s more than that. The simplistic offensive scheme is an enormous problem. And the team seemingly has unraveled, which is beyond alarming," Joe DeCamara.
5. "Nick Sirianni’s team was totally outclassed by Jonathan Gannon’s team," Joe Giglio.
6. "Gannon comes in and rubs Nick’s nose in it. With everything on the line for this team. One of the most disgraceful Eagles games I can ever recall," Glen Macnow.

8. The Eagles can still win the NFC East with a Cowboys loss and could even reach the 2nd seed if the Vikings beat the Lions. They would still control their own destiny in the division if not for the missed call on Saturday night.
