Hugh Douglas does not believe Eagles should try to bring back Haason Reddick

Hugh Douglas does not believe the Philadelphia Eagles should try to bring back pass rusher Haason Reddick.

"For the Eagles to try and get him back—it's obvious he's going to want some money. I don't think that's the move you should make," Douglas said on Tuesday's 94WIP Midday Show.

"Phenomenal numbers as far as getting to the quarterback...it kind of makes you wonder, why is a guy with this skill set not being picked up or not being highly sought after like he should be...Last year especially, somewhere he's breaking down the scheme. Schematically, he's not fitting. Even though he's getting the numbers, something that he's doing is making teams kind of pause when you talk about giving him the money that he wants."

Reddick has requested a trade from the New York Jets before ever playing a snap. Jets GM Joe Douglas released a statement on Monday saying the team would not trade Reddick.

Reddick, 29, was traded from the Eagles to the Jets on April 1st for a conditional third-round pick. At the time, many Eagles fans and media questioned the decision by Howie Roseman to trade, arguably, the team's best defensive player.

Reddick, who has been holding out of Jets training camp, is in the final year of a three-year, $45 million contract he signed with the Eagles, where he has a base salary of $14.25 million and no guaranteed money after 2024.

When asked by the Jets media on April 1st about his contract situation, Reddick said, "All options are open."

Reddick recorded 11.0 sacks in 2023 and a career-high 16.0 in 2022 with the Eagles. In 2021, Reddick had 11.0 sacks with the Panthers and in 2020 he recorded 12.5 sacks with the Cardinals.
