Former Eagles Pro Bowl QB Donovan McNabb hasn't always been super positive when speaking about current Eagles quarterbacks, but on Monday it was nice to see him praise Jalen Hurts.

"It shows his character," McNabb told Jon Marks and Ike Reese on Hurts' Week 4 performance coming off a bad Week 3 game. "And I think one people have to understand is, he's still a rookie and he's learning and he's understanding how to have short term memory. And Jalen is very hard on himself, just as if some of the fans try to be hard on players. So what he did is he went back into the lab this past week and he got things corrected. You started to see him get a little bit more comfortable in the pocket, get out of the pocket and still create some plays down field.

"From the whole offense, I seen a little bit more balance. I seen some blocking up front to buy some time...I also see that ball coming out to his receivers to give them time to make plays down the field."

Hurts completed 32 of 48 passes for a career 387 yards and two touchdowns, plus 47 yards on the ground and no turnovers.

Defensively, however, the Eagles were picked apart by Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs, eventually losing the game 42-30.

"To be honest with you, I think our secondary might be the weakest part of our defense and I'd like to see our linebackers free flow a little bit more," McNabb said.

McNabb also said it might actually be good for the Eagles to get on the road and bond together as a team.
