When I started working at 94WIP eight years ago, I could have never imagined a year like this one. Five months without live sports, a mostly empty building aside from our hosts and producers. No standing within six feet of each other. The National Guard stationed at the building for a few days. It's been… pretty weird.
This has been a hard year for everyone, but I can say with certainty that we would have never made it through 2020 without you. Time and time again I'm reminded that 94WIP is not simply a radio station, it's a community of thousands that includes you. We just have the microphones.
Thank you for always being there. For trying to help us settle old debates that you knew deep down we would never settle. For turning us on and calling to talk to us when there were no games to be happy or angry about. For letting us know that we are in this together.
I am incredibly proud of the hard work, creativity, compassion, execution and commitment that our staff has shown this year. But the truth is we owe you that and more. It is an incredible opportunity and responsibility we have to do all of this with you, and we do not take lightly.
There is a light at the end of the tunnel. Stay safe, stay healthy, and we hope to see you -- really see you -- soon.
