In our latest “We Got Rizz” segment, we caught up with Connecticut Sun President and former UConn star Jen Rizzotti. Today, Jen gives us the inside scoop on All-Stars, engagements, and the Paris Olympics.

On the court, DeWanna Bonner and Alyssa Thomas are the powerhouse leaders of the Connecticut Sun. Off the court, they’re partners planning a future together. The dynamic duo got engaged during last season’s All-Star break after starting their relationship during the pandemic. Jen says the team affectionately refers to them as the “parents” of the team because of their nurturing roles and experience, then jokingly adds that they're also called "grandparents" because of their ages! LOL!

It’s been a thrilling week for Alyssa Thomas, who was named to the Paris Olympics team. DeWanna Bonner will be accompanying her to Paris, excited for both the fabulous shopping and the opportunity to support her soon-to-be spouse. DeWanna is looking forward to giving her 35-year-old body a break from the relentless WNBA season.

As we gear up for the WNBA All-Star Game on July 20th in Phoenix, you can show your support by voting for your favorite players at vote.WNBA.com. Jen encourages everyone to vote for all the Connecticut Sun players, of course! If DeWanna makes the All-Star team, we might see an exciting matchup against Alyssa, who will be playing for Team USA.

Jen also shares her expectations for the Connecticut Sun for the rest of the season and how the team is navigating the challenges ahead. She opens up about handling LA Sparks Cameron Brink’s recent injury, which unfortunately means Brink can’t travel to Paris for the 3x3 basketball event. Jen discusses the impact of this setback — as she's the coach of the 3x3 team — and who will replace her now that Cameron is on the injured list.
