(Windsor, Conn. (WTIC Radio)-50 union employees, arguing they're paid poverty wages, have threatened to strike 6 AM Friday morning at the WIndsor Health and Rehab Center, because of unmet labor demands.

The employees, members of SEIU 1199, said most employees are paid  $14 or 15 an hour. The union said it recently reached tentative labor  agreements with four other facilities.

Union officials  argue some unlicensed CNAs work at the facility and are unpaid, earning instead educational experience. The Union said  it never agreed to those conditions.   It also said the very high patient to CNA ratio is inappropriate to provide quality care.

"Our employees have not received any of an additional Medicaid increase of ten percent. Through legislation we received four and a half percent. The employers received twice that in this temporary increase and our membership has  not seen a penny of  it," Union Vice President Jesse Martin said.

We're awaiting a response from Windsor Health and Rehab.
