HARTFORD, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Connecticut cities and towns are announcing parking bans in anticipation of the incoming snowstorm.
The city of Hartford is implementing a 24-hour snow parking ban beginning at 12:00 a.m. on Friday and ending at 11:59 p.m. that same Friday. Per the ban, all on-street parking is prohibited throughout the city.

Residents without access to off-street parking can park their vehicles at authorized parking areas such as Blue Light Lots, City Parks, City Recreation and Senior Centers, and Hartford Public Schools parking lots except for Bulkeley High School, Burns Latino Studies Academy and the former Milner School on Vine Street.
"This is the first parking ban of the year, and I ask all residents to respect the ban and get your vehicle off the street. Forecasts right now range from three to five inches, and as our DPW team prepares for the cleanup work, let's help them out by keeping the roads clear," Mayor Luke Bronin said.
The town of West Hartford is placing a parking ban effective 10 p.m. Thursday until further notice. No on-street parking will be allowed during that time.
Officials remind residents that off-street neighborhood municipal lots are available for parking along with school lots if school is canceled for the day. If a vehicle is parked at those locations, the vehicle must be removed by 12 p.m. Friday or it will be towed, town officials said.
Bristol is issuing a parking ban that goes into effect at 10 p.m. Thursday through noon Friday. East Hartford is also issuing a parking ban that will take effect at 10 p.m. Thursday, but officials said it will remain in place until further notice.
The town of Newington is issuing its parking ban from midnight Thursday through 6 p.m. Friday.
Officials of the town of Plainfield announced that a parking ban will begin when one inch of snow has fallen. According to town officials, it will remain in effect until the roadways are cleared.
Though the City of New London has not yet put a downtown parking ban into effect, officials are reminding residents of winter parking restrictions that will be in effect.
The restrictions include no parking on narrow streets, parking only on the "odd" side on streets that permit parking on both sides of the street and following posted regulations on streets that permit parking on only one side of the street.
