Headline Washington Post: "Dog adoptions and sales soar during the pandemic."

Here we all were waiting for a baby boom, a wedding boom or even a divorce boom. Who knew a doggy adoption boom would be headed our way in 2020? Well, the Washintgon Post reveals that "shelters, rescues and breeders report increased demand as Americans try to fill voids with canine companion." Lots of animals are finding their fur-ever home in 2020, and they are brining their humans some much needed unconditional love. (Cuz that's what we all need more of in this crazy year — love.)

Here's more from that WaPo article, "what began in mid-March as a sudden surge in demand had, as of mid-July, become a bona fide sales boom. Shelters, nonprofit rescues, private breeders, pet stores — all reported more consumer demand than there were dogs and puppies to fill it. Some rescues were reporting dozens of applications for individual dogs. Some breeders were reporting waiting lists well into 2021."

In fact, our very own Ryan Jones has recently become a pandemic papa. He and his girlfriend, Lisa just adopted an adorable baby girl doggy from Aruba named Ruthie. Just wook at dat face!

Ryan and Lisa have been following Ruthie's rescue story for a while now, and they just *knew* she was the girl for them. They went through the Cunucu Dog Rescue organization and have nothing but wonderful things to say about the process. She's definitely brining some island sunshine to Connecticut.

Oh, and Ryan is finding out what it's like to be a new dad — no sleep! You know it's gonna be a wonderful Christmas though, can you imagine all the toys under the tree?
