Missouri Senator Dr. Bob Onder is currently looking at the race for St. Charles County Executive, and while he may not have officially declared his participation in the race, he is paying close attention to a recent proposal from the current County Executive.
“The Founders of our Republic really cherished the ideal of the citizen legislator,” says Onder. “But unfortunately, County Executive Ehlmann thinks that only career politicians should be County Executive.”
Ehlmann recently submitted a charter amendment to completely ban the county executive from engaging in any trade occupation, business, or enterprise. A move Onder believes Ehlmann is making in his political favor.
“I don’t call people corrupt lightly,” says Onder, “If the definition of corruption is using one’s public office and power to benefit oneself, [this bill] is corrupt.”
Bob Onder joins Marc Cox to talk the latest out of St. Charles County and his future as a potential candidate.
St. Charles County Executive Steve Ehlmann denies these allegations.
