Missouri State Representative and incoming Speaker of the House Dean Plocher joins the Mark Reardon Show to give a sneak peek into what might lie ahead in the next Missouri State legislative session.
“The state has, for several years, been great and we are now in a position of abundance for money. I mean, it's a good problem for government to have. But I think we need to be cautious of that. We want to invest prudently in infrastructure and help grow our economy right now, Missouri sitting at $5-6 billion extra. Government, you know, you got to be a little bit, a little bit of trepidation there on how government can spend the money. And I propose that we continue to invest in our, you know, one-time infrastructure expenditures to grow our economy to provide what Missourians need,” said Missouri State Representative Plocher.
He continued, “ I also think this next legislative session, we're going to look thoroughly at trying to return some of the hard-earned taxpayer dollars to the taxpayers so they know how to best spend their money, their resources that they were.”
