Missouri State Senator Eric Burlison joined Marc Cox to discuss his actions last week to "pre-file" legislation regarding Missouri's "Stand Your Ground" laws.
From Burlison's press release:
"Under current law, the burden falls on the defendant to prove he or she reasonably believed physical or deadly force was necessary to protect themselves or a third person. Under Sen. Burlison’s legislation, there is a presumption of reasonableness that the defendant believed physical or deadly force was necessary to protect themselves or another individual."
Burlison pointed out to Marc Cox that he was a sponsor of the Second Amendment Preservation Act in Missouri.
"The bill was designed to make Missouri law supreme," says Burlison, "so that our local law enforcement, when they're enforcing Missouri laws, they can absolutely ask for and get the help of and aid from federal agents to enforce Missouri law."
