The Money Badger is back in Detroit.
The Lions have re-signed kicker Michael Badgley, his agent announced Friday via Twitter.
A five-year vet, Badgley latched on with the Lions last October after being released by the Bears and brought some stability to Detroit's shaky kicking game. He made 20 of his 24 field goal attempts, an 83.3 percent conversion rate slightly above his career mark. He also made all 33 of his extra points.
Prior to bringing in Badgley, the Lions had signed and released nine kickers in the wake of Matt Prater's free agent departure in 2021. Austin Seibert and Dominik Eberle failed to grab hold of the job last year, opening the door for Badgley.
The Lions hope he's here to stay.
