The San Diego Padres start their second series of 2019, tonight as the Arizona Diamondbacks limp into town.

The D-backs are coming off a 1-3 start after being outscored in Los Angeles 42-22 in the entore series. In fact the Dodgers set a new club record for runs scored in a four game series with 42. Needless to say, Arizona will be looking to bounce back and quickly forget about their Opening Series as they head down I-5 to play the Padres for a three game set at Petco Park.
Unlike the Diamondbacks, the Padres are out to a hot start winning their first Opening Series since 2011, and team moral is high. Matt Strahm will be toeing the rubber for the Padres tonight against the Diamondbacks' Merrill Kelly, who was pitching in Korea the past four seasons. Strahm has only had 10 starts in his career but is the savvy veteran on the Padres rotation with all the young arms. If he follows the young buck's suit, the Padres will be in for another impressive performance from the hill.
