The San Diego Padres activated Manuel Margot from the Paternity list and sent Luis Urias down to Triple-A El Paso in a corresponding move. Jose Pirela was originally brought up to the big league ball club to fill Margot's roster spot, but the Padres have elected to send Urias down this time when they activated Margot.

April 21, 2019 Urias has struggled through much of 2019, including Spring Training. After posting an (11-for-46) Spring at the plate, the Padres elected to have Urias start the season in Triple-A to get more consistently at-bats. Urias was then brought up to the Major League club on April 8th, after Ian Kinsler was unsuccessful in producing offensively.
The #Padres have optioned RHP Phil Maton to Triple-A El Paso and recalled LHP Robbie Erlin from Single-A Lake Elsinore.

April 21, 2019 Unfortunately for Urias, he was also unsuccessful in producing offensively as he hit a measly .083 (2-for-24) at the plate. Padres announce they hope to give Urias more consistant at-bats in El Paso before pulling him up again.
San Diego also recalled Robbie Erlin from Single-A Lake Elsinore and optioned Phil Maton to Triple-A El Paso.
