More of the same unfortunately for the Padres Saturday night, as they fall to the Cincinnati Reds 4-2 and extend their losing streak to six games. Eric Lauer never seemed to get fully comfortable on the mound, allowing six hits over five innings and three runs (two earned). The Padres hung close throughout however, due in large part to a breakout evening from Eric Hosmer, who went 3 for 4 accounting for nearly half of the team's hits and both of their runs batted in.

Unfortunately the Padres were once again undone by their ability to get the timely hit. They finished the night going 1 for 8 with runners in scoring position, making them 2 for 18 overall in the series so far.

The Padres are back in action tomorrow afternoon as they look to avoid the sweep and rebuild some momentum before the first place Seattle Mariners come to into Petco starting Tuesday night. Pregame coverage Sunday begins at 12:10 PM with Chris Ello before we head up to the booth where Ted Leitner and Jesse Agler will have the call starting at 1:00 PM right here on 97.3 The Fan.
