Unfortunately Saturday was a night to forget for the Padres, as they fell to the Marlins 9-3 in a game that got away from them despite an early lead. Outfielder Josh Naylor hit his first major league home run to give the Padres a 2-run lead in the 2nd inning, but the Padres were only able to maintain the lead until the 4th, when the Marlins chased young Padres left-hander Nick Margevicius from the game after stringing together 5 hits and a walk before any outs were recorded. The downward spiral for the Friars continued in the 6th, as the Marlins added on thanks to a 2 run home run from Bryan Holaday, before tacking on another 2 for good measure in the 9th. The Padres will look to shake off the loss and go for the series victory Sunday afternoon, pregame coverage on 97.3 begins at 2:10 PM with Chris Ello taking us all the way up to Ted Leitner and Jesse Agler's call with the first pitch scheduled for 3:10.
