Miguel Rojas had four hits, including three doubles, and Harold Ramirez homered and drove in three runs as the Miami Marlins ripped the San Diego Padres, 9-4, in the first game of a three-game series Tuesday night in Miami.

Ramirez’s two-run homer capped a four-run first against Padres starter and loser Chris Paddack (3-4). Rojas had opened the scoring with his first double of the game, a run-producing line drive into the right-center field gap. Miami added two more off Paddack in the third inning, one coming on an RBI single by Ramirez.

Rojas had an RBI single during a two-run sixth and finished off his big game with a double in the eighth. Austin Hedges had three doubles for San Diego and drove in three of the four Padres runs.

Sandy Alcantara pitched eight innings to pick up the victory for Miami, and Brandon Kintzler recorded the final out in the ninth with the bases loaded to get credit for the save. The loss was the second straight for San Diego (26-22), following an 11-game winning streak.
