The Padres announced today that catcher Francisco Mejia will begin his rehab assignment at Triple-A El Paso tonight. Mejia is recovering from a left knee sprain, and is eligible to return from the IL whenever he's ready. Mejia is hitting .167 with 3 RBIs in 19 games this season.
