It has not exactly been smooth sailing for Max Kellerman the last couple of weeks.

The ESPN personality was booted from the network’s popular TV show, “First Take,” last week and relegated to a new role on ESPN Radio’s morning show with Keyshawn Johnson and Jay Williams.

Kellerman made his debut on Tuesday, but even that could not go off without a hitch.

As the former Jets wide receiver introduced Kellerman to the show, which is simulcast on TV, it appeared as if Kellerman was totally unaware that his co-host was talking and tossing the show to him.

Kellerman could be seen chatting with Williams while Johnson was talking and as Johnson opens up the floor to Kellerman to make his debut he is still talking with Williams, although nobody could hear what he is saying because his mic was clearly not on.

It is surely no fault of Kellerman’s, though. It was likely a technical glitch or error by someone behind the scenes working the production.

Still, it seems Kellerman just cannot seem to catch a break these days. Perhaps Day 2 will go much better.
