If you're a diehard baseball fan — particularly of the Twins or the Mets — with $6 million to spare, you can fulfill a dream by purchasing Johan Santana's amazing Florida mansion. But that's not all... you'll also become next-door neighbors with Santana himself.
As Tiffani Sherman of Realtor.com notes, Santana is moving out of his Miromar Lakes home, which he purchased in 2009 during his stint in New York. But at the same time as he bought that property, he made another big purchase.

"It’s a unique kind of story, but when [Santana] bought this home and then built it, he actually bought the lot next door—which isn’t something that normally can be done in this development," listing agent Jennifer Springer Rinden of Orchid Realty International told Sherman. "He ended up building a playground for his kids as well as a batting cage, and they used it quite a bit.
"They just decided that they were going to start over, so now they have gone in a totally different direction and are building on that lot next door. You know the neighbor you’re going to have."

Up-and-coming baseball professional looking to cash in on the first big paycheck of your career with a splashy $5.995 million purchase? You probably won't find a much more ideal situation than moving in next to Santana and getting some BP while overlooking a beautiful lake in gorgeous Florida weather. Perhaps some Mets players would find such an arrangement useful!

But Springer explains that she feels the ideal buyer will be someone with "a large family that wants to be with their kids or grandkids and entertain," and to my knowledge, no active ballplayers have grandkids. The privacy of the home is an especially prominent feature, as it's tucked away behind three gates for a truly special experience. But that's not the only feature — in fact, there's an exhaustive list of them:
— 6-bed, 7.5-bath house of over 9,000 square feet sitting on a lot of over 25,000 square feet
— A gated community "widely recognized as one of the finest communities in Southwest Florida" with a beach club, community pool, golf course, marina, tennis court, fishing pier, restaurant and more
— Master bedroom that opens onto a landing area with a fireplace and a grand staircase leading down to the pool, which overlooks a beautiful lake
— A fully equipped fitness center, office, gourmet kitchen with wine cellar, home theater, private guest suite, spa, wet bar and private boat dock, among other amenities
— A four-car garage attached to the house
— Santana's unique design flair, using mostly Syrian stone for a "unique Old World type charm"
