Logan Ryan and his family have an awful lot to be thankful for this week.
The Giants cornerback shared a very personal story during his Zoom call with reporters on Wednesday about his pregnant wife, Ashley.
Following Monday’s game, Ryan spoke to Ashley, who was in Florida and experiencing stomach issues. She hoping to just sleep it off but Giants trainer Justin Maher insisted to Ryan that she should go to the hospital.
They followed Maher’s advice and Ashley’s life was potentially saved as doctors were able to catch an ectopic pregnancy. She underwent emergency surgery and is doing OK, the veteran cornerback said.
Ryan was appreciative of the Giants and head coach Joe Judge, in particular, for their support.
“Joe said, ‘If you need to fly to Florida, don’t worry about football,’” Ryan said, per ESPN’s Jordan Raanan. “That’s what Joe is as a man and as a coach.”
According to NFL Network’s Kim Jones, Ryan said he wanted to share the story to illustrate “we have really good people here” who care about more than football.
Ryan added because Ashley is doing well he has remained with the team.
