The Padres came from behind AGAIN, beating the Marlins 9-8 to win their 16th win in the last 18 games, which is the best stretch of winning in franchise history. The Padres trailed 7-3 in the 7th inning, and cut the deficit in half thanks to two run-scoring fielder's choices from Luis Arraez and Jake Cronenworth. Jackson Merrill then tied the game in the 8th with a 2-run homer, his 3rd game-tying or go-ahead home run in the 8th inning or later in his last 4 games. Luis Arraez then put the Padres on top with an RBI-single. However, Jake Burger tied the game with a solo homer in the bottom of the 8th. After Robert Suarez pitched a scoreless 9th inning, Luis Arraez put the Padres up 9-8 with an RBI-groundout in the top of the 10th inning. Tanner Scott came in to close things out in the bottom of the 10th against his former team, and after allowing a bunt single to place runners at the corners with no outs, Scott was able to retire the next three batters consecutively to earn the save.
