Padres manager Bob Melvin announced on Thursday that starting pitcher Blake Snell will be placed on the 10-day IL with left adductor tightness, and that MacKenzie Gore will start in his place, making his MLB debut. Gore showed the skillset during spring training that once made him the top pitching prospect in all of baseball, striking out 16 hitters and only walking 3 in 12 spring training innings. In his first AAA start, Gore struck out seven and walked none in 5 shutout innings. You can listen to Gore's MLB debut on 97.3 The Fan!
