Musgrove struck out 6 and allowed just 1 run in 6.1 innings pitched in San Diego's 5-1 win. Juan Soto ended the scoreless game with a 2-run blast in the 5th inning. Fernando Tatis added a 2-run shot of his own in the 6th inning. 4 runs was more than enough for the Padres on Friday night, but Rougned Odor kept his hot streak going, driving in another run in the 9th, extending the Padres lead at that time to 5-1. Josh Hader struck out the side in the bottom half of the 9th, and the Padres kicked off their series in the Big Apple with an impressive win. Saturday's pitching matchup will feature Michael Wacha against Luis Severino.
