The third time was a charm for Joe Musgrove, as he put together his best outing in three chances since returning from the IL, hurling 7 scoreless innings against the Mets, allowing just one hit and no walks while striking out 9. Luis Arraez continued to swing a hot bat, collecting 3 hits including a solo homer in the 1st inning to put the Padres up 1-0. Kyle Higashioka also had a great night at the dish, going 2-4 with a homer and 3 RBIs. The Padres led 6-0 after 3 innings, and that would be more than enough offense. Jason Adam relieved Musgrove in the 8th, and struck out the side in order, followed by Sean Reynolds pitching a scoreless 9th, as the Padres would go on to win 7-0.
