The Padres bounced back from Monday's disappointing loss to the Tigers with a 6-4 win in 10 innings on Tuesday. Mike Clevinger pitched a gem, carrying a shutout into the 7th inning. Luke Voit and Jorge Alfaro both hit run-scoring doubles in the 3rd inning, accounting for 3 runs against starter Garrett Hill. Jeimer Candelario hit a 2-run homer off of Clevinger in the 7th inning, Candelario's 3rd home run this series, and Riley Greene hit an RBI-single off of Taylor Rogers in the bottom of the 9th to send the game into extra innings. The Padres didn't waste any time in extras, scoring 3 runs, all unearned, off of Gregory Soto in the top of the 10th. Luke Voit was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded and Jorge Alfaro hit a 2-run single with 2 outs. Nick Martinez closed things out in the bottom of the 10th, earning his 4th save of the season. The Padres will go for the series win Wednesday morning at 10:10 am.
