The Padres exploded for 10 runs and earned a much-needed win over the 1st place Orioles on Tuesday night. The Padres jumped all over starter Jack Flaherty in the 1st inning, with Jake Cronenworth drawing a bases loaded walk, followed by Gary Sanchez blasting the team's first grand slam of the season. Manny Machado added a 2-run double in the 2nd inning, and the rout was on, providing Michael Wacha all of the run support he would need in his return to the mound. Wacha's return couldn't have gone much better, as he tossed 5 shutout innings and got out of a bases loaded 1-out jam unscathed by striking out Cedric Mullins and Austin Hays back to back. The Padres will have a chance to win the series on Wednesday when they send Blake Snell to the mound.
