The Padres finally lost a game at Petco Park, as the Cubs won 2-1 in 10 innings on Tuesday night. Randy Vasquez matched Shota Imanaga inning for inning, as each starter allowed just 1 run through 5 innings. The game seemingly turned in the Padres favor when the Cubs dropped two popups in foul territory against Manny Machado, who ultimately hit a solo home run to register the game's first run. But the Cubs tied the game in the next half inning on Pete Crow-Armstrong's bunt with runners on the corners. The game would go to extras tied at 1, where Nico Hoerner's RBI-triple would bring home what proved to be the game-winning run. The rubber match between these two teams will feature Nick Pivetta against Matthew Boyd.
