The Padres lost 2-0 to the Mariners on a night where Seattle starter Logan Gilbert dazzled, striking out 12 and allowing just 1 hit without issuing a walk over 7 shutout innings. Fernando Tatis Jr. did get a hold of one in the 4th inning, but Julio Rodriguez robbed him of a solo homer with a leaping catch that would have given the Padres a 1-0 lead at the time. Ray Kerr got into a bases loaded jam in the 5th, and with 2 outs and a 3-1 count to Cal Raleigh, Kerr suffered a pitch clock violation for the fourth ball to bring in the first run of the game. Dylan Moore added an RBI-triple in the bottom of the 6th for Seattle, and that would be all the offense the Mariners would need. On a night when the Padres went with a bullpen game, the pitchers did all you could hope for, but the offense just couldn't figure out Logan Gilbert.
