The Padres' bats remained hot on Saturday night, following up a 10-3 win on Friday night with a 13-1 victory over the Diamondbacks on Saturday. Matt Waldron continued his fantastic pitching, allowing just 1 run over 6 innings. He found himself in a bases loaded no outs jam in the 5th inning and was able to escape with only 1 run allowed.
Ha-Seong Kim's 3-run blast in the 2nd inning gave the Padres a comfortable 4-0 lead. Jake Cronenworth ripped a 3-run homer of his own in the 4th inning, and the rout was on. All in all, the Padres totaled 14 hits and 3 home runs, with Kyle Higashioka homering in his second consecutive start. Adam Mazur will make his Petco Park debut on Sunday with a chance for the Padres to take 3 of 4 from their division foe.
