The Padres hosted their first home playoff game in front of fans in 16 years, and didn't disappoint, beating the Dodgers 2-1 in a pivotal Game 3 of the NLDS. The crowd was raucous from the first pitch until the last, cheering on the Friars against the hated Dodgers. Jake Cronenworth gave the Padres an early lead with an RBI-single in the 1st inning. Trent Grisham continued his torrid postseason, slugging a solo homer in the 4th inning to give the Padres a 2-0 lead. In the 5th inning, Mookie Betts hit a sacrifice fly to cut the lead to 2-1. That would end up being all the scoring in this game, as both bullpens pitched really well. The Padres will have an opportunity to close out the Dodgers and advance to the NLCS with a win at home in Game 4 on Saturday night.
