The Padres lost to the Mariners 5-2 on Wednesday night, as Seattle starter Bryan Woo carried a perfect game into the 7th inning. After cruising through the first two innings, Michael King ran into trouble in the third. Jake Cronenworth committed an error with two men on and one out. Cal Raleigh followed with an RBI-single, and after the second out of the inning was made, Luke Raley drove in two more runs. Only one of the three runs charged to King was earned. In the 7th inning, Fernando Tatis Jr. broke up Woo's perfect game with a solo blast to left field. Xander Bogaerts would drive in another run to make it a 5-2 game. Tatis followed up his home run in the 7th by robbing a home run in the 8th with a spectacular catch. But Seattle's bullpen didn't allow a run after taking over for Woo in the 7th, as the Mariners held on to win 5-2. The Padres will enjoy a day off on Thursday before beginning a series in San Francisco against the Giants.
