
Despite a late surge to make it a one-point game, the San Diego State Aztecs fell 67-66 to the Boise State Broncos on Saturday at ExtraMile Arena in Boise, Idaho.
The Aztecs trailed 66-58 in the game's final minute, but cut the deficit to three points after a made three-pointer from Reese Waters with 13 seconds remaining. The Broncos then extended their lead to four points after Max Rice made a free throw. Lamont Butler hit a three-pointer in the final seconds to cut it to a one-point deficit, but the Broncos were able to run out the clock on the ensuing inbounds pass.
Jaedon LeDee led the Aztecs with 13 points and eight rebounds. Reese Waters was the only other Aztec to score in double figures, collecting 10 points and making a pair of three-pointers. San Diego State shot 25% (6-for-24) from three-point range as a team.
Boise State received a game-high 17 points from Omar Stanley, while Roddie Anderson III had 14 points and Chibuzo Agbo collected 11 points in the Broncos' victory.
The Aztecs return home on Tuesday evening to host Wyoming. Opening tip is at 6 p.m.
