Aztecs Take Down No. 17 Utah State

The San Diego State Aztecs improved to 17-5 overall and 6-3 in Mountain West Conference play with an 81-67 win against No. 17 Utah State on Saturday afternoon at Viejas Arena.

With the victory, the Aztecs moved within one game of the first-place Aggies in the Mountain West standings. Utah State dropped to 7-2 in conference play with the defeat.

Jaedon LeDee and Jay Pal led the way for San Diego State with 16 points each. LeDee also came just one rebound shy of a double-double. Micah Parrish scored 14 points, while Darrion Trammell also contributed with 12 points in the win.

The Aztecs excelled from three-point range, shooting 45% (9-for-20) from beyond the arc. Meanwhile, the Aggies only shot 26% (6-for-23) on three-point attempts. The Aztecs also held a +9 rebounding margin.

San Diego State next plays at Air Force on Tuesday night. Opening tip is set for 8:30 p.m.
