There’s a nine game NBA slate today including an ESPN game. That means we will have plenty of guys in the player prop pool to choose from. There are a couple of fun matchups tonight, but I’ll go with Lakers-Jazz as the marquee game. Utah is currently favored by 8.5 points and the total is set to 218.5.
As for betting tips, player props are a fun way to wager on NBA games even if you don't like a side or total. I like to find matchups that I can exploit or good situations due to injuries.
Let’s dive into a couple of these scenarios now.

Marc Gasol UNDER 6.5 points
I know this is a very random prop, but I like the number here. Gasol comes into tonight averaging 4.5 points per game (PPG). That number has gone up to 6 PPG over his last ten games due to Anthony Davis being out, so we have a slightly inflated number. Especially against a very good defensive Utah Jazz team.
The Jazz are top dogs in the West for a reason. They rank third in points allowed and second in defensive rating per Lineups.com. They are also in the top five of several other key defensive metrics.
Gasol will be facing off against Rudy Gobert and some overall length in the Jazz lineup tonight. I’ve also seen the big man looking to pass more in his role with the Lakers. Unless he hits a couple of threes, rare since he only averages .8 threes made a game, I don’t see him going over this mark.
Patrick Williams OVER 5.5 rebounds
Williams is averaging 4.8 rebounds per game (RPG), but that number has gone up to 6.7 per game over his last ten outings. With Lauri Markkanen being out, PWill is seeing more minutes at the 4, which has led to more rebounds. That and his high motor has helped as well.
Tonight the Chicago Bulls face off against the Minnesota Timberwolves, which is the biggest reason I like this prop. The Wolves are 25th in rebounds allowed, 26th in offensive rebounds and 24th in defensive rebounds.
He has gone over this number in his two last games and I don’t see it stopping tonight.
Kelly Oubre Jr. OVER 5.5 rebounds
Going back to the glass here using the same logic. Oubre is averaging 7.1 RPG per game over his last ten games and has gone over this mark in four straight games.
He gets a favorable matchup tonight against the Indiana Pacers. Indy ranks 19th in rebounds allowed but 28th in offensive rebounds. Oubre is a high energy guy, so I like this spot for him.
If you are feeling frisky tonight, I’d sprinkle a little money on Devin Booker OVER 25.5 points and Domantas Sabonis OVER 41.5 points, rebounds, and assists. Both were big All-Star snubs yesterday and I can see both playing with chips on their shoulders today. This is just a small theory play, so take it with a grain of salt.
